On Wifi-enabled Canon cameras you can now upload directly to irista. It takes a few minutes to set it up the first time, but after that posting is really simple.
I’ve created a step-by-step guide to walk you through setting it up:
Step 1: Create a free Canon Image Gateway (CIG) account here
Step 2: Download and install the appropriate support software for your camera here
Step 3: Connect your camera to your computer with a cable like this
Step 4: Run the EOS utility 2 on your computer (it should start automatically when you plug in the camera, but if it doesn’t, you can start the app from your Programs or Applications).
Choose “Set Up Web Services”
Sign in with your CIG account
Click on “Edit Web Services”
Select the “irista only” option under Image transmission destination, then click on “Set”
Click on “Finish”
Select “irista” from right side and click the arrow button to add to the left side then click on OK
Close the EOS utility 2 program
And here is a quick guide on how to actually upload from your camera once you’ve done that :
Step 1 : Turn on Wifi
- Turn on the camera, with it disconnected from the computer.
- Click the Playback button to access your photos
- Click on Menu
- Scroll to the section with Wifi and make sure it’s set to ‘enabled’
Step 2 : Upload using Wifi
In Menu, select ‘Wifi function’ and Select “Upload to Web service”
Select irista from the available services
- Connect to an available wireless network.
- Select ‘Set’
- Select ‘Send img shown’ to upload the photo.
To upload multiple photos select “Send selected” and browse/choose the photos then click on “OK” then “Send”
Your photo(s) should now be in irista :-)
